As of December 10, 2021, the shop is in "Hibernation Mode". The shop is OPEN and available for new orders *but* I will not be back in the studio to review and process new orders until AFTER Christmas. As such, shipping will be on hold until the new year. This print is on sale because it's "old" (2017 ish) and I'd like it to be in a good home and not sitting in a box in my studio collecting dust. Unlike some of the other prints in the "old but still in pretty good shape" (like me) category, this one has not been in a rigid sleeve, but stored in an open flat file-- as a result the corners curl (as shown). I'm confident it will flatten once framed, if not in transit to you!
This piece was originally conceived of as a concept for a public mural on a tall, slim building, and is meant to represent the disconnect between the opposing "sides" in the city where I live. It was created after a mural I proposed (different image) was accepted and then ultimately rejected due to racism disguised as NIMBYism. The conversations that followed that experience revealed a lot more about the way some of my neighbors saw the others, and the way blame was assigned and then used to justify & excuse aggressive racism. It was an attempt at an editorial piece (which may or may not have been successful)
Print is based on an original colored pencil and watercolor painting, which is also for sale in its own listing.
